How I Caught the Triathlon Bug
Growing up in New England, my family would take trips up to Lake Placid each summer. These trips always seemed to coincide with the IRONMAN race held there each July, and it wasn’t long before competing in IRONMAN Lake Placid became one of my top bucket list items. In college, I rowed crew for three years before deciding to try something new during my senior year. In what I can only describe as a very impulsive decision, I signed up for IRONMAN Lake Placid late one night without giving any thought to the training required to finish such a race. Over the next few months though, I grew to love both biking and running (the jury is still out on swimming). The feeling I got crossing the finish line in Lake Placid was all I needed to know that I was hooked.
