How I Caught the Triathlon Bug
I first was introduced to triathlon during my toddler years, as my family would often vacation to different races that my father raced. I knew nothing about the sport and carried this mentality into college. After playing college football for a year, I decided to give triathlon a go with my dad. I quickly found out that I had some talent and decided to go long. My father’s ultimate dream was Kona, but had never raced an Ironman. In 2008, we raced our first Ironman together, but neither of us reached our goals. The next Ironman proved fruitful as I qualified for Kona for the first time and my dad was able to watch his son cross the elusive finish line on Ali’i Drive. Since then, the sport has introduced to me to many friends, my wife, and given me experiences that I never thought possible.
