How I Caught the Triathlon Bug

Back in 2010 I was living a pretty unhealthy lifestyle. I had poor eating habits and drank a little too much, and tipped the scale at 230 pounds. That was until I met my now wife, Emma. She helped me realize that living a healthy lifestyle was much more fulfilling than McDonald’s french fries (that and getting her attention of course). Over the next few years, the pounds fell off and the fitness came around. In 2012, I decided to take her up on her offer to compete in a local triathlon. Equipped with a steel road bike, borrowed bike shorts, and an old Speedo, I was thrown in the deep end of the sport. I struggled to finish the race with rubber legs off the bike. After that race, I was hooked! Over the past 5 years, the triathlon journey has been extremely addicting and the quest for faster is never complete!
