How I Caught the Triathlon Bug
My Dad raced professionally in the 80’s and was the first overall winner at the Wildflower Triathlon. At the 20th annual race at Wildflower, he came out of retirement and got back into the sport, which got me into the sport at a young age. I competed in youth triathlons for a few years with great success (although youth triathlon was not as competitive then as it is now). Once I got to high school, I narrowed my focus to swimming, ultimately choosing Cal Berkeley to continue swimming at, always knowing I had triathlon waiting for me after my swimming career. After two years competing for the UC Berkeley swimming, I decided to transition and start competing for their triathlon team, and have been competing and loving it ever since!
